Wheat, pulses push grain output to record 235.9 million tonnes
NEW DELHI: The country's foodgrain output is set to touch an all-time record of 235.88 million tonnes (mt) in 2010-11, the agriculture ministry said on Wednesday. The latest crop estimates better the projection made in the second advanced estimates in February by 3mt. They also beat the existing production record of 234.47mt reached in 2008-09. A crop year in India runs from July to June.
