Thailand: Rice to gain as Vietnam stocks absorbed

  • Local paddy prices are expected to rise in line with global market trends once the market absorbs large new supplies from Vietnam, says the Commerce Ministry. Despite projections of a large paddy harvest of around 4 million tonnes this month and 1.3 million in June, prices are still between 8,200 and 8,300 baht a tonne, higher than the government's benchmark of 8,188 baht set for next week under
